About Us
The Scott McCain & Leslie McLean Centre for Sport, Business and Health advances quality sport education, develops avenues for gender equity in the industry, supports cutting-edge sports-business initiatives, and examines the holistic factors that influence wellbeing for athletes, coaches, students and more—preparing the athletes of today to carve pathways for the athletes of tomorrow.
We're also heavily involved in sport-related education here at Saint Mary's, where the Health Wellness & Sport in Society (HWSS) program and the Sports Business program prepare students for engaging careers in the field. We use our network to develop pathways to unique, sport-related learning experiences for students and student-athletes and use our platform to amplify the voices of people making a difference in sport.
We take a multidisciplinary approach to this work, addressing the many ways sport influences our society. From research grants to pitch competitions, community support initiatives and more—we pride ourselves on encouraging work by athletes, for athletes.
